When I first started meal prepping I started to hunt for a breakfast that was healthy, filled me up, and tasted great. I came across Elisabeth and Butter and instantly fell in love with her instagram. All of the food she makes looks beautiful and delicious. When I saw her recipe for baked oatmeal, I thought I just might have found my perfect breakfast.
This recipe hit all the marks! Healthy, filling, and so yummy it tastes like dessert! This recipe can so easily be added too. Adding fruit or honey when serving tastes so good and adds a little extra nutrition! When I thought about making a breakfast item for the 4th of July, I knew exactly how to incorporate this recipe!
I love the way this turned out! It would be so pretty to serve family and friends for the 4th! it’s easy to eat and so festive! I had fun with the berries and you could do any type of design you want. I have even baked blueberries into the oatmeal before and it tastes so delicious!
If you really want to be patriotic you can even make your own oatmeal American flag!
I think this is so cute!! You could even add some whipped cream if you planned on serving it right away.
I love the 4th of July and, for me, it always means time with family. My holiday is usually spent at my family’s lake home in Alabama, but this year we will be venturing to Wisconsin to spend some time with Dustin’s family. He has some long standing traditions and I can’t wait to experience them with him. I’d love to hear your plans for the 4th! Do you have any traditions with your friends or family?
