Chicago Recap

As part of our Winter Road Trip Dustin and I spent two nights in Chicago. It was my first time in the city and I absolutely LOVED it! It is perfectly positioned between my sister’s house and Dustin’s hometown, so it just made sense to do a quick stop.

The first night we arrived was Christmas, so most everything was closed. We managed to get reservations at a winter pop up at the Gwen hotel.

This Curling Lodge is located on the 5th floor terrace of the Gwen and they serve a winter menu with specialty cocktails. We had so much fun and the apres ski decor was adorable!

The next morning we walked around Millennium Park and had to see The Bean.

Because we knew we would be doing a lot of shopping in Chicago, we decided to forego Christmas gifts this year and splurge while we were there. I surprised Dustin with tickets to Hamilton! It was absolutely incredible! It was so well written; funny and clever, while also sad and informative. I highly recommend seeing it! Sorry for the blurry photo, but it was the only one we got at the theater.

After the show, we walked up to the Magnificent Mile and did some shopping. All the holiday lights were still lit and the store fronts were decorated. It was magical just walking around. We ate dinner at RPM Italian and it was delicious! We had such a great night!

Our last morning in Chicago was very rainy and cold. We planned on shopping all day, but it just wasn’t worth fighting the weather. We did make it to the Nike Store and to Zara. It was my first time in a Zara store and I am completely sold! I wanted to do a try on session while I was there but it was way too crowded and the dressing room was way to small. I’ll definitely be sharing what I got soon!

Before we headed on to Wisconsin we had to get some deep dish pizza. It was the perfect end to our trip! This personal pizza combo from Giordano’s really hit the spot.

As we were driving out of the city I told Dustin I couldn’t wait to go back. Aren’t those the best kind of trips?

Lindsey
